Great backup UPS unit for home video games and flat screen TV July 31, 2010 stang70man I have two of these at home now. Has been protecting my sons XBOX 360 and my family PC for about 2 months. Great insurance policy against power outages and brown-outs. Without these units, I had to replace the power supply and video card in my home PC (due to a power brown-out) that cost more than this unit did.
Also, during storms that cause power outages, I still have my home computer and XBOX gaming system running.
Well worth the price to protect the equipment that's plugged into them.
cyberpower ups July 13, 2010 Paul Vahradian (milwaukee, wisconsin) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I am no stranger to ups, I have 3 apc, 1 mge , 2 belkin , and 1 large power sentry. The 2 belkins died after about 5 years so I figured I got my money's worth out of them. Back to the Cyberpower, It looks good, is silent when in use, and love the lcd display, however plugged in the cyberpower, lcd lit up and noticed the voltage was swinging wildly from 99 to 135 volts. Unplugged my equipment from it and watched the voltage, same thing. My next step was to measure the voltage at the wall 119 volts and steady. Then the ups blinked out. I thought it died and that was that, After about 5 more minutes smoke poured out the top. Remembered it is a ups, opened the battery door and tried to remove the battery. Couldn't budge the battery as it had swelled and wedged in the case. Pulled harder and it barely slipped out, however the battery was too hot to touch. threw the battery outside and retrieved it after 2 hours. If I was not at home when it started acting up, It could have burned my house down. As usual Amazon was wonderful, sent me a prepaid shipping label and refunded me immediately. I assume that this can happen on any ups, however this was the only one that smoked and burned.

This is my third UPS battery backup and by far the best I ever had. They thought of everything. Great display, easy to setup and use and not to mention.... COOL looking too!
Does the Job May 23, 2010 J. Bryan (GA, United States) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought this product to keep my HP PC, 19" LCD monitor, cable modem, and wireless router running when the power goes out. I was surprised to find out that all of those items combined usually only require about 95 to 105 watts to run. With that setup running, this battery can last for about 50 minutes when the power goes out. This item does buzz kind of loud when the power is out, but it gets the job done. I would recommend it for any home user looking to protect a small home office setup.
Top quality, & reliable, easy to use. Top choice!! May 10, 2010 AJ Reviewer (New York) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is best power back-up supply that I have come across. It already was pre-charged by the manufacturer, luckily for me, since I didn't open the box for a week until the electricity went out. what a great surprise, to find it ready to go! This manufacturer has a very efficient system, that works when you need it. The CyberPower CP850AVRLCD has an on screen battery monitor & tells how long your system has for battery back-up. My laptop with USB peripherals had from 95 to 100 minutes. It automatically saves & shuts down programs, then shuts the computer down safely. The laptop battery won't drain, and protects the computer from surges. It was surprisingly heavy, but it is to be expected since the battery is designed to last & have plenty of power. Also, I had bought another item from the same manufacturer, the CyberPower High-Speed 7-Port USB Hub. This item was the first USB hub that actually worked, and does so flawlessly. The Magic Jack took up too much space, along with being a power drain. The hub made my laptop much more functional. I would recommend both without hesitation. I bought this CyberPower CP850AVRLCD Intelligent LCD Green UPS - 850VA/510W AVR 9-Outlet RJ11/45/Coax & this was the USB Hub CyberPower High-Speed 7-Port USB Hub
