Great sound but there are still better ones out there July 31, 2010

I am currently at a point where I really want good quality and will pay for it. I now use these bose for my tv (they do a good job for tv). I have upgraded to a 2.1 system- harman/kardon soundsticks ii system, on this site for short money. In my opinion, the soundsticks supass the quality of these bose for a similar pirce. For those with limited space on thier desks, the bose is a better choice, simply because of the fact that the soundsticks ii sub takes up much more space than do the bose speakers. If you have the space, go for the soundsticks for a similar price to these, otherwise bose sounds great in thier own right if you choose to go that route. I received these speakers as a christmas present and i can honestly say that i was eager to set these babies up. I immediately noticed a huge difference in sound quality from the generic speakers that came with the dell. I now use a mac and i must say that for most tracks, these speakers replicate the sound very precisely for a 2.0 system. The bass is amplified through the back of the speakers, and can become muddled on high volumes of some tracks.

Isn't Bose supposed to be the best? Isn't that why they're so expensive and have those weird commercials? I bought these speakers for my computer and immediately found their output to be weak. Worst of all, they're terribly "bassy" and not in a good way - more like a muffled way. I eventually tried to hook them up to my television but it sounded just as bad. If I still had the box/receipt, I'd return it.

This mini Bose system is great, i use it with my lapton, sounds great, I didn't want a lot of base on the speakers, sound is clear and cristal! I would definitely recomend it!

This is the third pair of these speakers I've bought ... which should be all I need to say, no? To be sure, there are higher end speakers available but for size, price, quality and ease of use it's hard to imagine a better deal than these. They make a huge difference in the audio quality of smaller flat screen TVs. As a bonus, I really like the extra RCA jacks and supplied cable so I can easily plug my iPhone in and listen to radio, podcasts, etc. Takes 5 minutes from box opening to using.

I have to admit I know close to nothing about speakers, but music is very important to me, and I bought these speakers and am pretty disappointed in them. Unless I'm missing something there is no way to control the bass/treble output and there is WAY too much bass. I don't think they sound that good sitting at the computer or across the room. I didn't want to spend that much money on computer speakers, but I do play most of my music off my computer now and thought this would be a good compromise. I have the Bose small in ear headphones and think they're amazing, and figured these would be along the same lines. We often now unplug the speakers from the computer and just use the computer speakers because the sound just does not sound right, no matter how we try to control it in iTunes. The other thing I really don't like about them is that there is no way to turn them on or off so they stay on all the time and there is always a constant buzz. Very disappointed.
