Much better choice than CTL or Asus eEE September 22, 2008 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
I was looking for a "budget" laptop for my 9-year old and was looking at Acer Aspire, the Asus eEE and the CTL pc. I originally bought the CTL but then reviewing the specs and seeing that you were really paying for the slightly more durable CTL 2GO. I wound up returning the CTL after finding the Acer Extensa at best buy for 399. The specs of the Extensa makes it a superior system in every respect. It is solidly built and seems to be able to put up with the demands of my kids.
The extensa is a full-sized system that blows away the performance of comparably-priced systems.
My only issue is that Acer does not supply drivers and therefore, I can not roll-back and install XP.
For the price and performance, if you are looking for a "budget netbook", take a look at the Extensa -- you get much more machine for your money and you don't have to worry about it being obsolete in 6 months.
