Not Vista Ready June 17, 2007 4 out of 5 found this review helpful
Okay, don't plan on using this notebook for anything until you go buy two 1 GB sticks of RAM memory first. I caught this computer on sale for $350. I ignored the suggestion to get more memory and that was a costly decision. When I opened up the box to this product and tried to use it was dreadfully slow. First, waiting for the Vista hardware to load is like pulling teeth. That was the most horrible, drawn-out process ever. When that was finally over it forever to get to the start screen. Then I tried to play a DVD and no sound came out. I called tech support and he suggested that I download this codec, but when I did the computer shut down! Do not buy this notebook unless you are going to $100+ to go buy some RAM. I got two 1 GB sticks of RAM (its max capacity is 2 GB with two RAM slots) by Corsair and now the notebook works fine. This notebook definitely doesn't come ready for Vista. If you use XP or some more memory you should be go to go.
