Editorial Reviews:
Product Description Built-in laptop speakers are pretty underwhelming and that's just a fact of life. Sure, they're good for a beep here and ping there, but if you've ever tried to share your favorite song, watch a movie, or make a multimedia presentation using your laptop speakers, you know exactly what we mean. Introducing the Altec Lansing XT1 system. In addition to its thin, innovative design with removable stands, the XT1 delivers superb sound and surprisingly deep bass thanks to four full-range neodymium micro drivers and bass enhancement technology. And just like your laptop, the XT1 knows how to travel light. Because it's USB-powered, there's no need for a power supply and no batteries to forget. Plug it into your USB port, press play, and you'll be listening to the best portable sound you've ever heard from a laptop. Pack it up in its deluxe carrying case, and you're ready for your next trip. Auxiliary Input Jack - Connect two different audio sources - your laptop and MP3 jukebox for example - at the same time.

Crap Speakers just as bad as MacBook Pro's Crap Speakers August 18, 2008 These external speakers were supposed to make watching movies on my MacBook Pro sans earphones more bearable. The middle-range volume coming out of these speakers barely rose above the MBP's own speakers! So I turn it up louder and what happens? Crackling. I really wish these had worked out for me. They even matched my laptop! :(
Great Speakers May 25, 2008 These speakers are the best I've seen for a laptop. I like the carry case easy for transport and durable and the sound quality of the sound is better than my TV. It is the perfect solution when you are presenting on the road and need to set up your laptop in a small or large space
Fantastic January 10, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
These speakers are easy to use. The sound is amazing especially considering the low (3 watts) power consumption. They are powered solely off of USB chord so they don't even need to be plugged into the wall which is great! Good clarity and range from my mid-technical analysis. The carrying case is also substantial - a real organizational plus! All around, I am very satisfied.
Volume..., please! September 30, 2007 Reasonabley light and somewhat compact....For the money I had quite high expectations. What has really disappointed is the lack of volume. Hardly worth toting around! Is it just my particular set? Would not recommend ! Sorry!
Turn Up the Volume.... Please September 30, 2007 Like the USB plug in feature but wish someome else had mentioned how limited the volume is.... Okay for a very small hotel room only!
