Amazon.com Product Description
The Kensington 72212 PocketMouse Mini USB Mouse is the first mobile optical mouse with a retractable cord, allowing for easy storage in your laptop bag, portfolio, or pocket. Simply extend the retractable cable, and plug it into a Mac or PC via an open USB port. It's the perfect solution for mobile professionals who are dissatisfied with the built-in input devices on their laptops and want a versatile mouse that travels light. The Kensington 72212 features a compact shape that is comfortable for both right- and left-handed use, with a 2.5-foot adjustable-length cord, and a stylish metallic color that complements contemporary laptops. More convenient and comfortable than a touch-pad, the Kensington 72212 has two mouse buttons and a scroll wheel that makes navigation easy. The speed and pinpoint accuracy of Kensington's DiamondEye optical technology allows it to respond to even your fastest movements with accurate tracking and precise guidance, and has the additional convenience of no required cleaning. This Kensington optical mouse works right out of the box, with long-lasting reliability that is backed by a one-year manufacturer's warranty. This unit requires a PC running Windows 98, ME, 2000, or XP, or a Macintosh running Mac OS X or later.

4 out of 5 stars Overall a decent product   June 3, 2007
I've owned this mouse for some time and have been generally quite satisfied with it. It's very portable and sturdy. The pads on the bottom do tend to come off over time, though, and the cord sometimes doesn't retract well. It's a great option for its price, however, and I recommend it for students in particular.

It's a elfin mouse, works well on any smooth surface but may be uncomfortable when used for extended hours.

For a mini-mouse, I like the feel of this one. It's easy to use. I prefer a wired mouse over wireless so I don't have to worry about batteries. I've had no trouble at all with this one, but you do have to be careful how you retract the cord. If you don't guide it, it can get twisted. But even if it does, it's easy to fix.

5 out of 5 stars Handy little mouse!   December 5, 2006

I received my Kensington PocketMouse Mini USB Mouse as a white elephant gift at the office Christmas party, and I love my mouse! It is tiny - and that is terrific for my little hands. It's the first mouse that doesn't make my hand ache from stretching out to use it. Could be awkward for people with large hands. The cord is super short and doesn't get tangled with anything. When you're done using it the cord retracts very tidily. Of course, could be too short depending on your setup. The tracking and scrolling is excellent. My first mouse that doesn't get tangled up with pet hair. No problems with setup, just plug it in, and it sure beats the touch pad on my laptop. For the price [...] it is a good deal. Especially, if you have small hands and like short retractable cords.

5 out of 5 stars The perfect mouse for me!   September 18, 2006
I bought this mouse about three months ago, and I love it. It works on every surface, and the scroller works well too. The only complaint I have is that the cord is rather short (about 2.5 feet long), and it plugs into the left-hand side of my laptop, which means that I only have about a foot to work with. Although, I think that complaint can be shared equally with the Dell people for putting the USB port on the left (good deal for the left-handed population, I guess). Some people have complained about the wind-up function for the cord getting tangled, but I haven't had any problems with that.
