Great Comp for a Good Price June 2, 2008 16 out of 16 found this review helpful
I've had this laptop for over 2 months and have had no issues what-so-ever with it. It has exceeded my expectations. I have always believed in the "you get what you pay for" moto..but with this laptop I got what I paid for and then some! I have found similar and lesser specs in other brands for far more then this Toshiba. I use this Laptop with Verizon Wireless on the road, ATT DSL at home, and Hotsposts locally,I get a flawless performance everytime. I have played MMO's, done school work, chatted, downloaded music, and file shared with it...works beautifuly. Only cons...it runs hot...invest in a Laptop Cooler for $25 bucks and the battery life could be better..so if your gonna use it a lot invest in a better battery or a 2nd one to take along. Other wise this is a great laptop for the money!!!
hideous service May 30, 2008 6 out of 71 found this review helpful
besides the incredibly low quality of HP's laptops, get ready for the hideous service. i paid hundreds of dollars for the service package, "customer care" bla, bla, bla... i was supposed to get my computer back in five working days if i ever had any problem, but unfortunately reality struck once my computer broke, very shortly after purchasing it. it overheats and turns off without the slightest warning, so i constantly lose my work unless i save everything constantly. in any case, the repair "service" kept my computer for over two weeks, and had me waiting for days at home for both the pick-up and delivery that took days to occur. every time HP said the computer would arrive, i would sit there waiting for it, and it would never arrive. alas, i will never touch another HP product with a ten-foot pole in my whole life. if you truly need your computer for work, get ready to lose thousands of dollars in time and production as HP hijacks your vanishing computer. with a little luck, you may get your computer back in double the time promised in the lie-filled service package. on top of everything, both the HP customer service person and the person from UPS they told me to call acted as if none of this were a big deal and i was just a big complainer.
