4 out of 5 stars Everything perfect but default color scheme is poor.   May 24, 2008

This macbook is 4th edition which supports memory up to 4gb and supports 802.11n wireless network. This is also my 3rd macbook. Everything goes nearly same with the older ones. But the color scheme of the screen is very poor in natural. Takes too long to calibrate the screen unless you have a hardware calibration tool. Without the h/w calibration I still couldn't match my 22" philips LCD panel.

5 out of 5 stars I absolutely LOVE it.   May 24, 2008

I just bought this model of macbook a couple days ago. I can run lots of programs and the computer doesn't slow down. The two finger scrolling is super-helpful and now I don't know how I could live without it. The webcam is a nice feature and the microphone has really good sound quality. I tried the feature in keynote (apples version of powerpoint) where you make a recording about a particular slide, and then I played it back. The sound quality was EXCELLENT.

Some might argue that switching from a PC to a mac is a big hassle; I would disagree. I'm able to use word and powerpoint on a mac. I can use all of the things on the internet with firefox or safari that I could on Internet Explorer. I'm trying to think of general things that you can't do on macs that you can do on PCs, but the only big thing that really comes to mind is gaming. If you're really into computer gaming, then a mac is not for you (unless you buy a reallly expensive one with a good graphics card). Alternatively, you can just buy and xbox or playstation and keep gaming separate from your computer.

It seems to me that most places on the internet are beginning to be more mac-friendly. Along with being user friendly, a mac is also stable stable stable. I can't emphasize that enough. My family has grown up with PCs. We've gone through at least 6 or 7 over a course of 20 years, so I can tell you that a PC is not in the same class as a mac. If you gave me a million dollars to never us a mac again, I wouldn't take it. Before owning this macbook, I had a mac mini. I barely ever turn it off, and it has never froze up to where I have to reboot it. When you switch from a mac to the best PC in the world, you are downgrading.

I know that apple computers are spendy...but make the investment. Find a cheaper place to find this model and purchase the Applecare. If you buy a PC, you'll have freezing, crashing, and headaches. When you buy a mac, you'll have stability, reliability, productivity, and the best damn computer you've ever owned.

4 out of 5 stars Small and poweful   May 21, 2008

As this is my very first laptops, I have little to compare with. I have always been a Mac guy so I only know the
Mac operating system. The lapbook is small as I wanted and the operating system is fast and simple to use.
It is mac quality and the mouse pad is fairly easy to get use to. It really is a nice machine. I like the black
finish and the quality is above par. The new mag plug is a very good idea. As all new Macs, its easy to set up.
If you have more another Mac you can transfer most of your settings and passwords via firewire. As always with the Mac, it is simple.

this is very cool. But there is no microsoft office 2004 as it posted on the web site. You need to buy microsoft office 2008 separate.

5 out of 5 stars Best Gift EVER   May 12, 2008

My MacBook is thee best thing that could ever happen to my business! Of course it's my personal computer as well...switching from a PC to a Mac is like going from High School to College! It makes using a computer fun!!!

People tried to talk me out of a laptop, but I have to say, having the convenience and flexability has helped me put together the tools I need to get my Art out there.

If you are considering purchasing this MacBook, you won't be sorry. Mac OS X Leopard & iLife features have so much to offer,I recommend watching the video before making your decision, you won't be able to order it fast enough!! OBTW...Amazon's price beats everyone else's (if you really want it fast...don't go with the super saver shipping...way too slow for me, wanted it ASAP!)
