View larger. | Give Your Business An Edge A must for smaller offices that demand professional results, the MF4350D is a smart, cost-effective choice that can give your business an edge. Because it performs the work of four separate machines in a single space-saving unit, it can fit in almost any office, streamline maintenance requirements, and keep day-to-day operations simple and stress-free. You'll never have to worry about keeping track of a variety of user manuals, repair center numbers, or warranties. Everything you need to tackle jobs both big and small is right at your fingertips. Duplex Versatility To help enhance everyday operation, the MF4350D offers duplex output capabilities for printing, copying and receiving faxes. You can also choose to copy single-sided pages as double-sided output via the 35-sheet automatic document feeder. These options help you significantly reduce paper consumption, which is great for both the environment and your bottom line. Smart, Efficient Paper Handling Business success often rests on the ability to produce quality output fast. That's why the MF4350d boasts print and copy speeds of up to 23 pages-per-minute (ppm) for letter-sized output and delivers quick "first prints" or copy pages in approximately nine seconds. It also helps you cut down on wasted time spent re-filling paper by handling up to 250 pages in a front loading cassette. Professional Quality Results The MF4350D device prints sharp monochrome text with resolution up to 1200 x 600 dpi for impressive clarity. Through use of the platen glass or the automatic document feeder (ADF), color scans are captured in 24-bit color at an interpolated resolution of up to 9600 dpi. The MF4350D also transmits documents seamlessly and quickly with Super G3 Fax, reaching speeds of approximately 33.6 Kbps. Additionally, it features eight one-touch speed dial numbers, 100 coded speed dial numbers, 256-page memory capacity, PC Faxing, and two-sided duplex output to provide a robust fax solution in a compact desktop design. Space-Saving Single Cartridge System The MF4350D also incorporates the Canon Single Cartridge System, which combines the toner and drum in one easy-to-replace unit. This results in excellent image quality retention, while eliminating the complication of finding space for separate toner and drum consumables. The MF4350D is backed by a one-year limited warranty. Fantastic September 7, 2010 Roy D. (Wilton, NH USA) I have only had this printer for a short time, but I love it already. Not too big, quiet, and FAST with lots of options. I bought it for grad school and have it set to save toner, print duplex, and can even print two pages (or more) on a side and still read the print. I may never need more than a case of paper and one toner cart. LOL!
A bargain September 5, 2010 Maureen Ogle This is the first non-HP printer I've ever owned (and I've had a printer since 1984), so I was slightly apprehensive. But: This is a terrific printer. It's easy to set up (took me 15 minutes to unwrap, untape, and set up all the functions. Yes, you do need to read the manual). And it works like it's supposed. Both printer and copier provide crisp, clear output. Haven't used the other functions yet, but can't imagine that they won't also work just fine.
The bonus is that it's not as big as I expected it to be. It fits easily on top of a 15" by 19" filing cabinet. (The actual footprint is much smaller than the overall dimensions because the keypad and paper tray both protrude past the footprint, but neither sit on the table/desk.)
So at this price (I paid $149) this was a serious bargain. Couldn't be happier.
Fantastic Printer September 1, 2010 David Hartke (Prescott, AZ USA) Getting this printer is like stealing. I bought this printer from Amazon for $150 including free shipping and thought it might be pretty good but it far exceeded my expectations. First, the speed is unbelievable for a printer in this class. It takes 15 seconds to get a first copy from a cold start and a whooping 20 pages per minute thereafter. The two sided printing speed is even more impressive. I timed a first copy 2 sided print at 16 seconds. Not sure what repeated 2 sided prints are but they are FAST. Next, the paper tray holds plenty of paper unlike inkjet printers. Not sure but around 130 to 150 sheets of 20# paper. The ADF works great with copies. And, alothough some have noted that the print quality is a little wavy, I notice none of this, very satisfied with it. Handles envelopes very well also. Installation of SW was very easy. Note that this model printer does not connect directly to an ethernet network. What I do is gain access to the printer via my computer connections to my network with the printer connected via a USB to my primary computer which I leave on all the time. Prior to getting this printer, I had a separate scanner, small home Xerox copier, FAX machine and an HP 990C inkjet printer. Since then I have thrown all those out and just use the MF4350d (regained much needed desk space) and when I need a color print, which is rarely, I go to one of my other computers which has a color inkjet printer connected to it. I have not tried the FAX funtion yet but I would see no reason why it should not be OK. The scanning function is fine but lacks sophisticated adjustments such as gamma, etc. I would have liked the scan SW to have included some form of OCR program but it does not. I have read in the manual where some models may include OCR SW. Finally, the cost of operation IS stealing! From what I read, a toner cartridge can print about 2,000 pages. I bought an after market replacment toner cartridge for $20 which in itself is unbelievable. Anyway, that works out to one cent per page. Try beating that with an inkjet printer at ten times the cost. Don't be misled to think this printer can be used as a high volume office printer but the overall quality looks good to me, especially in a home/small office environment.
Sturdiness a question August 27, 2010 Martin Goldfine This machine scans and prints very well, but in 30 days of average use a nonexistent "paper jam" totally disabled the unit. To Canon's credit I took a deal whereby they overnighted me a refurbished one and I shipped back the old, at their expense. This jam, by the way, went through an exhaustive effort by their tech support, talking me through several attempts to cure. In the end he posited that a sensor went bad, and I wondered just how fragile are these sensors, in light of the competitive pricing of the original machine. With the second unit, so far so good after 2 weeks of every day use.
Toner drum refills outrageous! August 18, 2010 Gene Smith 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I have had this unit less than a year. The toner drums started ot at $78. This was high but workable.
I just went to Staples to buy a replacement and was told they no longer stock it. Staples online offers it but now its $200. The whole machine on Amazon is $174! This is the last Cannon machine I will ever purchase! I understand obsolescence, but in less than a year? Ridiculous.
