Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
This motherboard supports the latest Intel Quad-core processors in LGA775 package. It's excellent for multi-tasking, multi-media and enthusiastic gamers with 1066/800 MHz FSB. Intel Quad-core is one of the most powerful CPUs in the world.NVIDIA SLI (Scalable Link Interface) takes advantage of the increased bandwidth of the PCI Express bus architecture and features intelligent hardware and software that allows two GPUs to efficiently work together to deliver earth-shattering, scalable performance. For some applications nearly 2X performance! The NVIDIA nForce 650i SLI chipset supports the NVIDIA Scalable Link Interface (SLI) technology that allows two graphics processing units (GPUs) in a single system. It is a highly integrated, high-performance, cost-effective processor.

5 out of 5 stars Nearly a year.   October 15, 2008
I read up on it. It's a nice stable MB. I haven't used the dual video board capability and probably won't. By the time I can afford another twin videoboard, the latest and greatest,(whenever that will be), will be faster that having 2 together. So the SLI feature is kinda moot, unless your going to slam a coupla' units in right away.
Even if not... it's made to handle it, so it's tougher than a normal MB. Right?

2 out of 5 stars It's a Problem, no more   October 14, 2008
Eng: This mobo is a packed problem. The lan always was a problem (the integrated lan card don't recognize the IP direction when turn on, i must restart the pc to this). Recently, don't recognize a XFX Geforce 9600 GT after two months functioning perfect with this video card. After, don't recognize a 8600 GT. I only change in the BIOS the boot order and this happens. And finally, this mobo destroy my mouse. I think that is a problem with the quality system of Asus, because this problem could be for the CMOS memory corrupted, but i don't know why. If asus fix this, this motherboard would be perfect. I see many problems with this mobo in reviews in the internet. But today, it's only a MAJOR problem.

5 out of 5 stars Exactly What I Needed   September 6, 2008
I had an old P4 system that I built in 2002 and the motherboard died. Today, it's nearly impossible to get a replacement that will accept DDR memory, a P4 processor and a bunch of IDE/ATA devices (like hard drives and DVD-ROM and DVD write drives).

This motherboard was a good compromise. It provides 2 IDE ports (up to 4 devices) along with all the new technology like SATA, SLI, and up to a Quad Core processor. I also had to purchase a dual core processor, new RAM and a video card, but I now have essentially a very nice new computer for $350. Neither Dell or HP could match the specs at that price.

If you're looking for a good quality modern motherboard with more than one IDE/ATA port you should consider this one.

1 out of 5 stars Absolutely the worst mobo ever made! No doubt.   April 10, 2008

This mobo has a major flaw where you can NOT occupy the A slots with certain memory (brands). I bought 8GB of RAM (OCZ2VU8004GK) and can not use all of it. Go figure which RAM brand works and doesn't. I updated to the latest BIOS, which promised more memory compatibility. NOT! Also, one of the heat sinks gets boiling hot, cannot touch - you will burn your fingers. Besides all that, out of 10 reboots, 2 of them get passed the BIOS. I bought this mobo to install OSx86 on it. As of April 10th, you will not get this mobo+Q6600 working with OSx86! VERY disappointed. I should have bought a Mac.

4 out of 5 stars GOOD MOBO but !! have CONFLICT with OCZ REAPER   March 31, 2008
(ENGLISH)

normal, NO IS problem of MEMORY or MOBO only conflict and compatibility no mix this 2 ITEMS .. if no have this problem the mobo can be the best !! ASUS IS THE BEST!
