Excellent Inexpensive Product!!! October 22, 2008 This product is being used on an HP Media Center PC with Vista Premium 32 bit. The product works exactly as advertised and is excellent. My experience was that this version of Vista was unable to locate the driver online automatically. The driver had to be manually installed from the included CD. Not a problem at all. This is an excellent product that works flawlessly and was a very inexpensive upgrade to my PC so I can now watch and/or record two High Definition ATSC shows on my PC simultaneously. As long as you are clear on what an ATSC signal is and that ATSC is all you need in a tuner, this model is currently the best bang for the buck.

The only channel I can't receive is 55 (FOX) as the scan only goes to 50 this is more than certain the cause of not receiving 55. Can Avertvhd Volar (A868R) provide a download to correct this problem?
Reception depends on where you are December 17, 2007 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
This product seemed to work well with Windows Media Center in Vista Ultimate. However, I'm too far from NYC to get an adequate signal using this unit. I live in the far northeast corner of NJ. I'm surprised I got any signal at all, but I did get some. I loaned this to a co-worker who lives further South, and he had much better results than me. None of these signal problems are a reflection on the unit itself, just that the included antenna is only appropriate if you live close to the TV station.
Great reception, picture quality really good. October 30, 2007 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I decided to try this since it was cheap. I've tried the ATI TV Wonder 650, ATI HDTV Wonder, and Pinnacle HD Ultimate as well. This card got all my local channels at full strength. The others required moving the antenna around for specific channels. The tiny antenna included with this Avermedia stick looked like a joke, but outperformed my other antennae. The picture quality was somewhat like 95% the quality of the other cards. It seems a little grainy instead of crisp, but still great nonetheless. I never installed the included drivers. I just let Windows Update (Vista Ultimate 32-bit) go out and fetch the drivers, and used Media Center to watch. There is an intermediate connected between the antenna and tuner, which snaps on. Since it's a really small connector, I am concerned with it wearing out. It's also an extra piece to carry. 4 stars (I'd say 4 1/2 if I could choose that), because of the picture quality thing.
Nice little unit October 14, 2007 1 out of 4 found this review helpful
I got this to watch football on the computer using the roof antenna that I use for my main TV. I got plenty of channels with it but could not get CBS or KTLA out of LA. They are from the same location as NBC and ABC which it picked up. Instructions say to enter frequency for searching for a specific channel but it requires an exact frequency as in 23590 not the channel number of 2 or 11. Since I can not seem to find out what these frequencies are anywhere on the internet I can not use that feature to look for a channel. So no football on this unit and I will have to try another unit. Worked great for the channels I found which was (4.1,4.2,4.3 NBC) (7.1,7.2,7.3 ABC) and some PBS stations.
