Amazon.com Product Description
A CRT monitor from NEC, the AS700 is a 17-inch (16-inch viewable image size) monitor designed for small business and home use. A maximum resolution of 1,280 x 1,024 and 0.27 mm dot pitch combine to provide detailed, true-to-life images suitable for a wide variety applications.

With its small 15.7-by-16.5-inch footprint, the AS700 fits easily onto your desktop, while the Opticlear anti-static, anti-glare, glass surface cuts back on harmful reflections and the resulting eye-strain. FST shadow mask technology further sharpens focus by capturing rogue electrons that might otherwise strike adjacent phosphors.

With the easy-to-use onscreen controls, you can adjust a wide variety of monitor settings, including brightness, contrast, H/V position, H/V size, color temperature, and more. The AS700 has a horizontal scan frequency range of 30 KHz to 70 KHz and a vertical frequency range of 50 Hz to 160 Hz, while its 100 to 240 V, 50/60 Hz power supply has a current rating of 2.0A. Energy Star certified, the AS700 is a plug-and-play monitor, ready to use right out of the box. It weighs 31.1 pounds. Compatible with both PC and Macintosh systems, the AS700 also comes backed with a three-year limited warranty on parts, labor, and picture tube.

I bought this AccuSync AS700 monitor because I hate LCDs and needed a second CRT monitor for a second computer. The picture on this model is blurry. Unusual for a picture tube monitor to look as bad as an LCD, but this one does.

The screen is also very curved, irritating for a computer monitor. I returned this AS700 for a refund.

I still needed a second CRT monitor for the other computer. I managed to locate an overstock of an older NEC picture tube model, the MultiSync FE772. The older FE772 model is MUCH clearer, a huge improvement. (Probably due to the smaller dot pitch of 0.25mm.) The screen on the older model is also very close to being completely flat. Although the older NEC FE772 model isn't nearly as good as my Samsung picture tube monitor from 2001, its OK I guess. The FE772 still looks better than the LCDs I've tried.
