5 out of 5 stars Great find   September 7, 2010

Compared to electronics stores & some other web sites, these are a terrific deal. They work just as well as the famous brand cables for a fraction of the cost. I bought three for my new receiver & they all work fine. Spending more won't get you a better cable.

This wire looked fat and well made but only lasted just over the return window (<90 days). Therefore Amazon is asking me to pay return shipping and for shipping on a replacement. The wire only cost 10 bucks. Why would I spend that in shipping it back? This will be the last Mediabridge Ultra Series wire I buy unless they contact me and send me out a new one at no charge. I will avoid and ask my friend to avoid as well. They get a big fat zero as far as aI'm concerned.

5 out of 5 stars For the price, they work !!   August 30, 2010

For the price of these cables, they work. Digital is digital. For a few bucks, these wires do what they have to. I use a 12' cable for my 58'' Samsung on the quality of your television. These wires work just fine and do the job. The price is totally worth it and you will feel like you got your money's worth. I would recommend them to anyone.

4 out of 5 stars worth the price-does the job   August 18, 2010

What can be said? It does as supposed. Sure, the more expensive ones might use heavier gauge wire and insulation, but these work no lesser than any other more expensive ones that I have tried.. A great buy from a great company. In all my numerous past purchases, I have never had to RMA anything back to Amazon. Evidently, they only deal with reputable resellers.

1 out of 5 stars Audio Issues   August 17, 2010

Before reviewing the cables I think its best to include the audio and video components being used.

My Setup:
Pioneer VSX 1020- Reciever
Klipsch Quintet
Klipsch 10' Subwoofer
Samsung LCD 120Hz
Xbox 360 S model
Playstation 3 Slim
DirecTV H24 - 100 (new model)

I recently purchased a new receiver in preparation for the a soon-to-be purchased 3D TV. I also needed a new receiver because I recently purchased the new Xbox 360 S model and I needed more HDMI inputs.

So after purchasing the new receiver, I need either 1.3a or 1.3b high speed HDMI cables for my new receiver. After all the money I spent, I figured I would jump off my high horse of continually buying Monster cables and look to save money on the HDMI cables. In excitement, I went to the nearest electronic retailer in my area and bought the cheapest cables I can find in order to hold me over until I bought better cables. The cables I purchased were very cheap looking, and not gold plated, but worked just fine.

However, being a stickler when it comes to a lot of my electronics, I wanted gold-platted HDMI cables. I jumped on Amazon looking to see if I can find a good deal and came upon the highly purchased and considerably well reviewed Mediabridge cables.I bought three 3ft cables and one 10ft cable. Cables look great and are designed well. I replaced the existing cables with the Mediabridge cables.

Everything worked fine for the first few days but then center channel audio began to cut out when watching Directv programming. So essentially, characters will be speaking and I would not hear one word of it. It was on and off so I assumed it was the Directv feed. Then recently, when streaming a movie over Netflix on the Xbox 360, the audio would either drop out completely or become muffled. Keep in mind, the Xbox 360 and Directv receiver are both brand new products. So then I began to worry it was my brand new $500 receiver. So I instantly grab the original cables I purchased and switched them out. To my surprise, the audio was fine for both Directv and the Xbox 360.

All the products I purchased, the receiver, Directv and Xbox 360 are all less than two weeks old. After testing the components with the other HDMI cables, I realized that there is an audio issue with these cables. One defective cables is understandable, but two defective cables is unacceptable and not a coincidence. The majority of people who use these cables may only use them to plug directly into their TV, so the digital audio issues may not be apparent. However, for those who connect their components through a receiver and looking for perfect digital sound (either DD or Uncompressed audio) best look somewhere else.

I was hoping the cheap route would have worked out better because after all, a digital signal is a digital signal. Apparently, these cables cannot do that.
